Diamond Trader Robbed by Fake Income Tax Officer: A shocking incident unfolded in the Katargam region as a diamond trader fell victim to a cunning fraud, losing a staggering Rs. 8 Crore in cash. The perpetrator, posing as an Income Tax Officer, orchestrated a daring robbery, leaving the local authorities baffled and the community on edge.

Details of the Incident:

According to the police report, the ordeal began on a seemingly routine Tuesday evening. The unsuspecting diamond seller had just retrieved the substantial sum from the firm’s secure locker. Little did they know, danger lurked just around the corner in the guise of one ‘Ramkumar Yadav’, the fake income tax officer.

The elaborate ruse unfolded as the fake Income Tax officer halted the trader’s car, brandishing a weapon to intimidate. With swift precision, he commandeered the vehicle, taking four helpless employees of the firm as hostages.

The sequence of events took a harrowing turn as the imposter directed the driver to continue the journey. Moments later, two of the bewildered passengers were ordered out of the car at an undisclosed location. The tense situation escalated further when, after a few more kilometres, the remaining two employees were left stranded near the Ved-Variyav bridge.

Escape and Investigation:

Seizing the opportunity, the criminal fled the scene with the vehicle, leaving behind a trail of confusion and disbelief. Promptly responding to the distress call, local law enforcement, including Katargam police and the Crime Branch, launched a full-scale investigation into the audacious robbery.

Efforts to track down the perpetrator intensified as authorities scoured through CCTV footage, capturing a glimpse of the accused in disguise, sporting a distinct headgear and clutching a bag of ill-gotten gains.

An official involved in the investigation remarked, “We are leaving no stone unturned in our pursuit of justice. Our focus is not only on unravelling the modus operandi of the culprit but also on understanding how a single individual managed to abduct four individuals in their own vehicle.”

Ongoing Probe:

As the investigation progresses, questions loom over the ownership of the diamond firm and the origins of the substantial cash haul. Authorities are diligently exploring all leads, including the possibility of insider involvement, to bring clarity to this brazen act of deception.

Conclusion:

The Katargam community remains on edge following this shocking incident, highlighting the importance of vigilance and caution in the face of evolving criminal tactics. As authorities work tirelessly to apprehend the perpetrator (fake Income Tax Officer) and recover the stolen assets, residents are urged to remain alert and report any suspicious activities.
