GSTN Advisory 502: Increase in Document Upload Size for Principal and Additional Place of Business in GST Registration

Taxpayers can now upload documents up to a maximum size of 500 KB in both the Principal Place of Business and Additional Places of Business at the time of GST registration: GSTN Advisory 502.

According to the GSTN Advisory No. 502 dated 9th July 2024, the GSTN is pleased to announce an enhancement in the document upload size for both Principal Place of Business and Additional Place of Business in New Registration and related Amendment. This change addresses the grievances received from the trade community regarding the previous limitations.

New Document Size Limits

Taxpayers can now upload documents up to a maximum size of 500 KB in both the Principal Place of Business and Additional Places of Business tabs. Previously, the upload size was restricted to a maximum of 100 KB. The documents that can now be uploaded with the increased size limit include:

  • Municipal Khata Copy
  • Electricity Bill
  • Consent Letter
  • Property Tax Receipt
