IIT-Hyderabad to Support Telangana CTO in the Investigation into GST Scam

In a statement released on Wednesday, IIT-Hyderabad revealed that a project titled “Big Data Analytics and Value Added Tax Data” was sanctioned by the Government of Telangana State (TS) to the institute on July 12, 2017. Initially set for a duration of one year, this project has been extended each year, with the latest extension stretching until May 2024.

The Principal Investigator (PI) and the project team at IIT-Hyderabad have been diligently working on this project, providing analytical reports periodically to the Telangana Government. These reports are based on the data provided by government officials, aiding in the analysis of tax-related information.

The institute has approached this project with utmost sincerity, treating it like any other sponsored research project. IIT-H has affirmed its commitment to extending all possible support to the Commercial Taxes officials throughout the investigation process. They will continue to cooperate fully and provide any information required as requested.
