CBIC Notification 10/2024-CT: Amendment in Territorial Jurisdiction of Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Central Tax

CBIC Notification No. 10/2024 – Central Tax Dated 29 May 2024: Amendment in Territorial Jurisdiction of Pr Commissioner/Commissioner of Central Tax

Notification 10/2024-CT: In exercise of the powers conferred under section 3 read with section 5 of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and section 3 of the Integrated Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, the Central Government hereby announces significant amendments to the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Notification No. 2/2017-Central Tax, dated June 19, 2017.

Key Amendments under Table-II (Effective from August 5, 2023):

1. Alwar Jurisdiction (Serial No. 7):

The territorial jurisdiction of the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Central Tax for Alwar has been redefined to include the districts of Alwar, Khairthal-Tijara, Bharatpur, Deeg, Dholpur, Dausa, Karauli, Sawaimadhopur, Gangapur City, Sikar, Neem Ka Thana, Jhunjhunu, and the tehsils of Behror, Bansur, Neemrana, Mandan, and Narayanpur in district Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan.

2. Jaipur Jurisdiction (Serial No. 49):

The new jurisdiction for Jaipur now encompasses the districts of Jaipur, Jaipur (Rural), Dudu, Ajmer, Beawar, Tonk, and Kekri, along with the tehsils of Kotputli, Viratnagar, and Shahpura in district Kotputli-Behror, Rajasthan.

3. Jodhpur Jurisdiction (Serial No. 53):

Jodhpur’s territorial jurisdiction now includes the districts of Jodhpur, Jodhpur (Rural), Phalodi, Nagaur, Didwana-Kuchaman, Pali, Sirohi, Jalore, Sanchore, Barmer, Balotra, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Anupgarh in Rajasthan.

4. Udaipur Jurisdiction (Serial No. 102):

The updated jurisdiction for Udaipur covers the districts of Udaipur, Salumbar, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Shahpura, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, Bundi, Baran, Kota, and Jhalawar in Rajasthan.

Note:

The principal notification No. 2/2017-Central Tax, dated June 19, 2017, was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), under number G.S.R. 609(E). It was last amended by Notification No. 5/2024-Central Tax, dated January 30, 2024, and published under number G.S.R. 77(E).
